Ever wondered about the personalities behind your favorite books? Victoria Danann's new podcast with Riley J. Ford has an incredible lineup of authors booked through January. No question is out of bounds. Check it out! THIS WEEK'S BEST SELLING AUTHOR... JULIA MILLS! HEY THERE! I'm Julia Mills. It's great to meet you! I've been incredibly blessed to become the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Dragon Guard Series. I'm a sometimes sarcastic, always southern woman that would rather spend all day laughing than a minute crying. I have two of the most amazing daughters ever created, a menagerie of animals and a voracious appetite for reading. I decided to write the stories running through my brain and I have to admit I'm having an absolute blast!! I read her first book, Dr Suess' Cat in The Hat at four years old and have been hooked ever since.  I believe a good book along with shoes, makeup and purses will never let a girl down. I know f…

Read a familiar book – I tend to go back to Harry Potter, especially book 3. They’re still so young and full of hope and possibilities in that one. The good ol’ days at Hogwarts. Sigh.Watch a favorite TV show – Parks and Recreation will always be my go-to “I need to feel happy” show. Leslie Knope is the epitome of optimism and feminism. Donate clothes you no longer wear – I’ve recently become obsessed with the idea of a capsule wardrobe. I’ve minimized my closet and donated three massive bags of …

Well, I am officially heading to Vietnam. I'll leave for basic in just a few weeks and then it's off to another world. My mom cried when I chose to enlist. It's not the most popular decision in some places, but other places aren't my little town. Here, I'm a hero. Here, I stand for something. My only wish is that I get to see her before I leave. It's weird, I've described her to everyone but no one knows who she is. To me, she's mine, but I know there is a story she's not yet ready to tell me. I'm glad she's in my life, though, because she's gotten me through some rough times. Well, that's my stor…
